The Detroit Tigers have lined up bd's Mongolian Grill as a spring training sponsor this year.

The stir-fry chain headquartered in Ferndale, Mich., opened its first Florida unit in Lakeland last May at the Lakeside Village Shopping Center.

As part of the sponsorship deal, a bd's mascot, Mongo Man, will roam the stands during games and fans will be eligible to win bd's coupons and prizes. bd's will be the title sponsor at every Wednesday game at Joker Marchant Stadium this spring.

Dave Ulgenalp and Mike Schmidt, owners of the Lakeland bd's, have plans to open 14 stores in Central Florida. Both of them grew up in Detroit and are long-time Tiger fans.
